14:20 | Highest voltage wide bandgap perovskite top cells | Ulrich Paetzold (KIT)
Ulrich will present 2D/3D heterostructures for interface passivation, wide-bandgap perovskite solar cells (Eg ~1.72 eV) with record open-circuit voltage for this bandgap and very high power conversion efficiencies of up to 19.4%. Furthermore, he will present latest work on novel interlayers and passivation strategies to minimize the voltage loss in low-bandgap (Eg ~ 1.26 eV) perovskite solar cells in p-i-n architecture. The p-i-n architecture is a key to realize high-performance 2-terminal perovskite/silicon as well as perovskite/CIGS tandem solar cells.
15:30 | Process modifications for transparent electrodes and bandgap tuning of perovskites in tandem architectures | Tom Aernouts (imec)
Tom will present a compositional investigation on 3C wide bandgap perovskites to map the bandgap and electrical output. The bandgap is changed via the most common X-site substitution of iodine with bromine and via cation substitution, with various concentrations of cesium, methylammonium and formamidinium. It is seen that cation engineering is a viable solution to fine-tune the bandgap and prevent photo-induced segregation of the perovskite. The most promising compositions with 1.67eV showed a champion efficiency of 18.25% in a single-junction configuration.
